Students participating in these programs will live with a host family and attend high school in the host country. Because of the school schedules in Japan, only an academic year program is available.

Germany

One of the most dynamic countries in Europe will be home for German-speaking students for either a semester or a year. Students will live with a host family and attend a German Gymnasium. The 2009 program starts in late August for those with excellent German language skills. Those with only two or three years of study may need to attend an intensive language training class for four weeks prior to the start of school in order to be prepared for the academic rigor of the Gymnasium.

Fees - Germany Program:

Japan

Japan, one of the most economically progressive and exciting countries on earth, can be the site of a fascinating year of high school. Proficiency in the Japanese language is not required, though a basic understanding of the language and a positive attitude is needed. Available courses will depend on the language ability of the exchange student.

Fees - Japan Program:

Spain

Enjoy the beautiful land, language, and people of Spain in this program. Students should have studied Spanish for at least two years. Students who go to the Barcelona and Majorca areas should be open to going to a part of Spain where two languages are spoken, Spanish and Catalan.

Fees - Spain Program:

We encourage all interested students to submit their completed applications as early as possible to ensure that we have sufficient time to match you with an appropriate host family in the country of your choice. The final deadline to submit an application is April 10, 2009. Once received, the application is evaluated based on available space in the desired country and the merit of the applicant.

2009 Summer Spanish Program (Cadiz, Spain)

Students participating in these programs will live with a host family and Spanish language courses in the host country.

Cadiz and its gorgeous sandy beaches stand surrounded on three sides by the Atlantic Ocean. The city is just across the Spanish border from Africa and is mostly African in appearance allowing a multi-cultural experience. It is in this coastal city that the Instituto San Fernando is located and in collaboration with the Universidad de Cadiz, offers a complete range of Spanish instructional programs.
